Sometimes referred to as "sowing" or "count and capture" games, Mancala is a family of board games played around the world. While there are many different ways to play the game, typically the board is either a solid rectangular block of wood or a two-piece board that folds in half to contain the pieces. I wanted to differentiate my design from the rest by changing the shape of the board. This design allows the game to stay true to itself, while changing the shape enough to be strikingly different from others on the shelf.
